A Mohlajee Wedding

My wonderful best friend Ashley wrote a blog post on the Ancient Ritual in the Modern World: The anthropology of a Punjabi Wedding featuring my wedding. Ashley is a much better writer than me, and brings an anthropologist/archeologists perspective on a Punjabi wedding so I'm not even going to try and describe the events. She even included some photos, but I thought I would share a special family photo.

  1. Dear Ashley has narrated your marriage in a precise manner covering all aspects. Surely she left nothing for others to add except that it was a wonderfully organized occasion and we-meenu and me- enjoyed every bit of it. Off course we regret why the moment came to an end? If i had my way i could have let it go on and on. It was such a delight, a cherry to cherish. Anyway all good things must come to an end for newer ones to follow. We wish you and Dustin a very happy blissful and smooth married life.

  4. There are surely large number of people involved in a Punjabi wedding. It confirms my belief that Punjabis are indeed the most boisterous people. I love the way Punjabi marriages are depicted in popular culture though I'd like to attend one in real life. Till then, I hope I get an invite soon.
